Capability 01 / fourteen
Commercial Refurbishments
Upgrading a building that is still being used, without shutting it down.

What it means
Most refurbishment work happens around people. Staff are still at their desks, a tenant is still trading, a facility is still open to the public. The build has to be sequenced around them rather than the other way round.
That means staged handovers, works planned outside operating hours where the scope demands it, and dust, noise and access controlled at the boundary. The programme is written around the building's use, not just the trades.
What it covers
- 01Staged strip-out and fit-out
- 02Works planned around occupancy and trading hours
- 03Services coordination with the existing building
- 04Dust, noise and access control
