Project Scoping & Budgeting

The scope gets defined before the number, not after it.

Black and white photograph of plasterboard, steel studs and boxed fixings staged in neat groups on a bare floor

What it means

A price without a defined scope is a guess that both parties will argue about later. Scoping first is slower at the front and considerably cheaper everywhere after that.

That means walking the building, identifying what is unknown, and pricing the unknowns honestly rather than burying them.

What it covers

  • 01Site inspection and existing conditions
  • 02Scope definition and exclusions stated plainly
  • 03Budget estimates and cost planning
  • 04Risk and provisional items identified up front
